personal space..

Holy Moly it is finally Friday!  Has this week seemed eternally long to you too?  This looks like a fantastic personal space, somewhere to write thank yous and play around on a Ipad.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday weekend and week if you are taking a little time for yourself!

A vintage inspired photography studio

I'm off to London in a mo to visit family for the Easter holidays - so excited! Hopefully you'll all be shutting down, switching off and scoffing lots of chocolate somewhere too? Just before I go I wanted to share the beautiful vintage inspired studio of Vickey Weiss in Minnesota. So many details, so many lovely things....and light!

Pictures: Vickey Weiss

Thank you Vickey, for letting me use your lovely photos! I'm not sure I'd need a holiday if I worked somewhere like this....

Happy Easter everyone, have a lovely weekend!

Grey office space

Oh how is it Monday once again??  What I would not give to have a (clean) office that is this fabulous!  Today is the day to get my ducks back into rows and get moving forward.  Last week seemed to fly past me like a freight train, so please forgive any unanswered emails or phone calls.  I have a new intern starting today and I am hopeful she can get me back on track here!

Wishing you a wonderful day of taking care of business!

A romantic-industrial Swedish studio

This is the very cool studio of the Swedish founders and owners of web shop In My House. Oh to work in a space described by Swedish interior magazine Hus o Hem as 'romantic-industrial', and surrounded by industrial lamps, vintage bus blinds, and brightly coloured furniture and rugs. Check out their shop for similar finds too!

BTW - the shop is lethal! Let me know if you spot anything you love or have any tips for us!

Enjoy!

Have a lovely day!

Wednesday room envy: top ten home offices

Mid week and perhaps working spirits are starting to wane. At least mine are! So I thought maybe some home office decorating inspiration to pep things up a bit and make that work space a little more, well, inspiring. Here are my favourite top ten home offices of late:

All these images I have been squirreling away on Pinterest (my second favourite hobby after blogging on MSH!), you can check out my Pinterest page here.

Have a lovely day!

PS I have done my best to credit all the above pics but unfortunately it's really tricky via Pinterest so let me know if you can identify the photography / media / stylist from any of the above.

Artistic inspiration

Sometimes a simple piece of art can inspire a million ideas!
This is so vibrant and gorgeous!

key to a successful home office - a beautiful vintage chair!

Working from home is heavenly in itself, add a work space like this and I'm not even sure you're allowed to call it work! It seems every home office *needs* a fantastic vintage office chair.....

Do you have an aaaaawesom office chair or perhaps an entire work space that will make us cry with envy? if so, make sure you send me a pic!  I'm thinking I'll be back again this afternoon with some more inspiration for the home so pop back and say hi! Have a lovely day!

Workspace

Clean and simple with a great view...  I love the bookcase- I always need more space for my books!

Workspace...

I love love this space.  So simple and clean- if only I could keep mine that way how nice it would be!
The door and the trim just set it off perfectly.

Gorgeous workspace!  I love all of the natural light which is a must for me!  Humm I don't see a spot for the computer though..  maybe on the other side of the room??

workspace

This space seems so easy on the eyes simple and clean where you could just open up the laptop and get some things done.  It is nothing like my desk that is covered in papers and misc little things that my kids have made and given to me.

I love the finish on the table and the key is the fresh flowers I think!

Workspace

This does not seem completely practical for actual work but I like it.  The floor is amazing and the lights are very very cool!

How great is this desk - 2 sided and full of storage!  Love it and the mix of formality with the informality makes the space seem so creative.

Abstract inspiration

Some days you cannot place your finger on what exactly you love about a photo or a space but it is inspiring.  Some photos just make me think that life is full of so many layers and ideas that it is hard to separate them into any type of design thought.  Does that make any sense?  Often when I look at a photo of a space I can see the elements separately that make it up, but there are other times that I just cannot pinpoint what it is that makes me love it- I just do...

These two images are like that for me...
