Stockholm; white, grey and dusty pink

For sale right now in the beautiful, smart district of Östermalm in Stockholm is this light, bright and airy apartment decorated in white and grey with a dusty pink accent. I love how the wishbone chairs make a focal point.

So envious of the all white floors. What would be your absolute dream floor?

I think the print in the kitchen is  by one of my favourite Swedish typographers, Therese Sennerholt however, I can't find it on her website - am I wrong (could I be...no way!? haha!). I am always on the look out for great black and white prints, a current favourite is this one

On the subject of black and white....don't forget to enter my give-away if you haven't already (sorry to bang on about this, I just don't want anyone to miss out!).

50 shades of grey in Copenhagen

It's Friday people! WOOHOO! And to top off a Danish week, here's a very cool Copenhagen penthouse. You may've seen it before on Bungalow 5. There are so many things I love about this home - the colour palette (black, white, all shades of grey and a dot of cognac), the original features such as the fireplace and french doors and the stairs lined with fabulous pairs of shoes. If I tried to do that here my 18 month year old would have a field time trying them all on and it would be a bit of a hazard! Still, you always want what you can't have right?!

What's your favourite thing about this lovely Danish apartment? Can anyone help me find the original source, I'd love to credit the owners and photographer.

Have a wonderful weekend all, and see you Monday!

A renovated Farmer's cottage

Well, well, well! Architects Calvin Tsao and Zack McKown certainly knew what they were doing when they renovated this former farmer's cottage in upstate New York. If I could own a weekend retreat, this would be it. I've heard of people moving houses....

I think the thing I love the most about this retreat is all of the interesting objects and artifacts displayed. So many beautiful wooden pieces too. Fabulous home, what do you reckon?

A Swedish summer home on Gotland

Morning! Me in a very wet London calling! Looking on the sunny side (te he) take a look at this beautiful home on Gotland, Sweden (check out other wonderful spaces on Gotland here). You may well have seen this oh so cool white space, photographed by Amelia, the blogger behind A Beautiful Living before with it's wood panelled walls, white floors, industrial and mid century scandinavian touches but it's always worth another look, especially if you're in need of summer cottage inspiration!

Despite the driving rain I've had such a great weekend in the Big Smoke. For anyone visiting London  you must visit the very cool new bar/eatery Evans & Peel Detective Agency in Earls Court.  Make sure you reserve a table well in advance though as it gets very booked up and it's soooo worth a visit!

Have a lovely start to the week and see you Wednesday!

A beautiful Stockholm apartment with mid-century touches

Sometimes, when you're in need of a little interior design inspiration the best place to turn is the estate agents. Especially Swedish ones like Fantastic Frank. And that's where this beautiful home in Vasastan, Stockholm is for sale. It is oh so Scandinavian, with the beautiful light wood floors, white and pale grey hues and the stark contrast of the wooden mid-century furniture. Such a perfect balance.

Ooooo what a wonderful home, I don't know how they can bear to part with it. And such beautiful light! What d'you think?

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments about my home dining space yesterday. Tomorrow I thought I'd show a few more snaps from another part of our open plan living space, so pop back if you get the chance!

Hej då!

Beautiful all white home

I was just about to enjoy a cup of tea in the garden when the IKEA Family Live magazine plopped through the door. It couldn't have been better timing! There's always a few gems in there and this beautiful white home in Tuscany is a fine example. I spy many IKEA staples such as the Urban chair, and check out the paper display over the dining table - possible DIY project for the weekend?

IKEA Family Live

I also love the IKEA blog Livet Hemma - the only trouble is it always makes me want to hot foot it down to IKEA to buy the latest PS collection range.

What do you think - do you have the restraint for an all white home?

Another sunny day here in Sweden! I could get used to this :)

Scandinavian meets parisian in Malmö

It's just incredible how homes like this can just 'pop-up' at the estate agents here in Sweden, but they do!! Ok, this one has actually featured in Residence. But still! The structural bones themselves are stunning enough on their own, and then the owner, Nina Bergsten, obviously knows a good thing or two about interior design....

Bo-laget via do you fancy this?
I love the mix of light and airy, minimalist scandinavian style combined with a touch of Parisian glamour. The pastels with the gold. Perfection. I'm not sure what else to say, except where do I sign and does the furniture come with it?!!! Thank you to the wonderful blog do you fancy this? for the tip.

PS if you click through to Residence and 'google translate' you can read the whole article and get some great tips on where Nina found some of the furniture.....

Have a lovely day!
