Simple yet striking

A distinctly simple yet utterly striking Scandinavian apartment to celebrate the weekend. If you could choose one fabulous designer item from this home, what it would it be?

With kind permission from Bohman & Sjöstrand and found via lovely blog Solid Frog.

Before I head off, just a little reminder that you only have a couple of days left to make the most of the 10% My Scandinavian Home reader offer from the fab shop Bodie and Fou! - code MSH2012.

Have a really great weekend all!

Interior by a Stockholm based photographer

Evening all! You may have seen these beautiful interior pictures by Stockholm based photographer Sanna Lindberg before, but I just simply can't see enough of this wonderful home. The owners have the most amazing taste, all their furniture is so beautiful and interesting and I love the touches of pastel.

PS the bedroom colours are also beautiful, not a palette I would normally put together but they work so well. I always think that people who can put the unexpected together are the most talented of all.

Any touches you like in particular?

A relaxed Parisien family home

Today's inspiration; a fun, relaxed well loved apartment in Paris beautifully captured by Danish photographer; Morten Holtum, for Elle Deco. You can practically feel the wonderful vibe in this family home of Irene and Thomas Cohen, owners of fab children's brand Bonton oozing out of the pictures. Plus there are so many details, every time I look I spot something new!

I particularly love the red and white dotted kitchen table matched by the little set of children's toadstall tables, so cute! Dots are set to be a huge trend in fashion and interiors this Autumn/Winter and this is such a lovely way of incorporating them into the home. Anything in particular you love about this space? Apart from the location of course!

PS I know a certain Erin from Like/ Want / Need blog who will dreeeeam of owning this apartment in the centre of Paris!

The home of a LA photographer

If some one works in the art world you can almost count on the fact that they will have a wonderful home. The home of LA photographer Amy Neusinger is definitely no exception! Mostly white with a romantic touch, Amy has added a spot of industrial to create a truly interesting and beautiful space. Vackert!

A warm wood feel in Southern Sweden

Feeling revived from my mini break to London (more on that tomorrow), and since I have just set foot on Swedish soil I thought it'd be rude not to post something from around here. So here are a few pics from Malmö photographer Vidir Giersson's portfolio, the photographer behind the Malmö Modern post I shared last Monday. These warm rooms are all softened by touches of different types of wood. I love the way Vidir has captured the texture, it makes me want to reach out and touch it!

I see the great blog La Maison D'Anna G has also spotted Vidir's portfolio, perfect!

Don't you just love arriving home? I think I'm going to relax on the sofa with a cup of tea and one of new interior magazines! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. x

A beautiful home shot by Peter Kragballe

Iiiiit's Friday folks! And while the rest of Sweden are preparing for 'Fredagsmys' (cosy Friday) I'm drooling over interior images by the wonderful interiors photographer Peter Kragballe who has shot for British magazines such as Elle Decoration UK. I'm loving this home in particular. Any guesses why?!

Peter Kragballe
I particularly love the sudden flash of yellow on the mirror frame. I'm wondering if I should do this in my home - a sudden unexpected pop of neon perhaps?!

Have a lovely weekend!

Some fab interior photography by Petra Bindel

Hej hoooo! A few weeks ago I wrote a post on the fantastic Parisian home of stylist Virginie Denny and artist Alfonso Vallee in a converted button factory. The photographs were taken by the extremely talented Swedish photographer Petra Bindel. Today I couldn't resist publishing a few more pics from Petra Bindel's portfolio.

I wish I could credit all the people behind the design of these wonderful rooms too (I recognise many from Swedish magazines over the years). If you know of any, can you let us know?!

Any favourite rooms? I love the bed spread in the first pic, the lilac wall in the kids rom and the library above. But all are very lovely.

Oh and before I leave you to go about your Thursday (I do seem to be going on a bit this morning?!), do you remember the Danish home brand, Tine K Home spring/summer collection event I went to a few Saturday's ago? They have just put a few really lovely pics up of the event on the Tine K Home blog, including one of yours truly! Does that make me just a little famous?!! Te he! I had such a fun time.

Have a lovely day! / Niki
