Tuesday DIY: Neon Christmas decorations

With the winter stolsis only two days away, it's soooo dark here in Sweden. And there's nothing like neon themed Christmas decorations to brighten things up. If you click through to Sania Pell and Purl Bee you'll find some great instructions on how to make some of these fab neon decoations yourself (if you still have the time!). Happy DIY!

Illuminate me here - are you a 'neon forever' type? Or is it more something you'd love to see....in someone elses home?!

Pretty Christmas decorating with winter branches

It really is cold here this afternoon. BRRR! I think that's why I was drawn to these lovely white Christmas images. I love the branches with presents, 'pepparkaka' (ginger biscuits), fairy lights. stars and baubles. So pretty! My little three year old made a ginger biscuit house this year.  I really love it, it's all hickeldy pickeldy!

Psssst! If you would like to make a ginger biscuit house but don't have the time to make it from scratch you can pick up a kit from IKEA!  You can also pick up pretty heart ginger biscuits to decorate with white icing. Perfect cheat!

Hanging around at Christmas

Hej hej! Slowly but surely I've been unpacking my Christmas boxes and dangling decorations around the house. These lovely pics show that you don't need much to create a lovely Christmas feel. Especially the heart lights - so romantic despite the cold, Brrrrrrr!

Monday DIY- pallet table

I like this whole Christmas display. Most of the items are from IKEA. But the pallet table was the piece that really caught my eye. SUCH a great DIY project. Find a large wooden pallet, paint white and attach wheels, simple and yet cool industrial. Where's my tool kit....

Christmas DIY: Advent calendar

In need of a project this evening? I thought I'd share this lovely Christmas advent calendar from Norwegian blog Design Hund. Such a great DIY project and so pretty that you almost wouldn't want your children / man / nan / pet cat to open the pressies each day?!

All pictures: Design Hund via NIB.
I see Stylizimo has also posted a great home made advent calendar if you're looking for more inspiration this evening, click here. Have a lovely night and if you do make your own advent calendar we'd love to see it! Vi ses imorgon / see you tomorrow! Kram!

Christmas decorations, Danish style.

So, four weeks until Christmas eve (that's the important date here in Scandinavia). It's time to get working on beautiful Christmas decorations around the home. Today's inspiration comes from Johanne Bildsoe who owns interior shop Details91 in Copenhagen. So many pretty ideas....

What do you think? Anything for your home? If you'd like to see more pictures click here. Or visit Johanne's online shop, Details91 where you can buy many of these things (dangerous!). Note, the shop is in Danish only so it could be time to get the dictionary out....

Danish clothes designer's home at Christmas

Oooo, what a lovely way to start the day by looking at the home of Danish clothes designer Kathrin Hviid from Bo Bedre. I love all the colourful Christmas decorations against the white backdrop.

This Christmas tree is standing in a pot from Fil de Fer

I love the Papillon lamp over the kitchen table which is from Design by Us

Off for my obligatory morning latté but back in a bit with a little more Danish Christmas inspiration! So pop back and see me!

A danish retreat with vintage Christmas decorations

Morning! I can't resist a bit of a Christmas theme today. I love this Danish cottage in RÃ¥geleje on Själlands north coast. Every year the family deck it out with vintage Christmas decorations which are either inherited or flea market finds. It looks so lovely, homely and festive.

I've cosied myself in a café today and am sitting with my latté and cinnamon roll. So bear with, plenty more Christmas inspiration to come today!

Christmas decorating with zinc!

OK, OK I said I wouldn't start yet, *but* these lovely Christmassy snaps from Walter & Co were to pretty to pass up. Unfortunately the online shop only seems to be in Swedish but if you're feeling multi-lingual go in and take a peek, there are lots of lovely things for the home. I covet the children's first aid kit for my girls!

And, here is a picture from the Finnish home of Sanna Raatikainen which has just featured in the Finnish magazine Kotivinkki Joulu. Amd what do we have here? Zinc candle houses! This year's must have?

Pop by later this morning for more pictures of Sanna's stunning Finnish home all decked out for Christmas. And some shopping ideas. But first....my latte! *smile*.
