Stripes please..

oh my goodness... I love the simplicity of this space, it feels like the cool summer evening air.

I have been a huge fan of linen bedding for a long while now. I simply love the softness of the sheets and the crumpled relaxed look of the fabric on the bed. At first I was all about the natural color and now I am infatuated with the dark greys and the white. This is what my bed seems to look like with the mix of the colors.. so natural and so relaxing!

But it is off to meet a client to select tile and stone and then back to designing a few up coming projects to be presented next week.

Inspiration

I am feeling a lot better today. Barely got that post off before the flu hit me..

So much to do... so little time.. I will be searching for inspiration for a bunch of new projects that I am starting for the first part of the year today. Please forgive me if I am slow to answer emails and get back to messages... I working on catching up too....

guest quarters

We have guests this weekend, and while I wish the guest room looked like this it might be TOO comfortable - if you know what I mean. This is so subtle and inviting with the soft layers of grey, linen and white.

Are you having guests for the holidays? How do you welcome your guests?

I always try to get the house to a normal level of cleanliness and fluff the pillows. I typically spray the sheets with lavender water and put fresh fluffy towels in the guest bath.

Time to relax

Saturdays are the perfect day to take a few extra minutes in bed and enjoy the morning light.

It is easier that way to ease into what you are doing for the day don't you think?

Also, I wanted to say thank you to everyone for all of your sweet comments on Thursday! Things are a bit better now... sometimes though!!!

A different take on bedding...

I am totally loving this bedding - the detail on the bottom edge is fantastic! Oh and the pillows! Oh and the lighting! LOVE!

Linen Cabinet

This is such a great piece. I love the contrast!

I have been loading up my linen closet with the best that I can afford lately. After being gone I could not wait to come home and climb into my bed with my linen sheets. It is such a treat to have them that I have invested in an additional set... so much nicer than the cotton...

How about you do you love linens?

Lately I find my self falling for them more and more - vintage and organic being my favorites! We found some great unused vintage linen sheets while in France and they are fantastic once they are clean and fresh.

Drapery on the bed...

What do you think? Do you like the idea of drapery on the bed?

If you have it, do you use it? Here in California I am not sure it would be anything more than decoration.

Too bad it's Monday and we cannot stay in bed all day or linger that extra few minutes in the shower... But just think we are making our way towards another weekend!
