The family home of a Danish stylist

This Danish family home owned by the talented stylist Camilla Tang Paylecke of blog Hunch is perfect! Homely, yet cool. Light and bright but full of personal touches. And the perfect blend of Scandinavian designer pieces, mid century finds and pretty vintage items. What a truly inspiring home!

What are your thoughts? Any styling ideas you love?

So many cute and clever blends, I think one of my favourites is the Eames side chair with the mid-century writing desk. I could sit there and work all week!

Thank you to Camilla for the kind permission to show these pics.

Hope you all have a lovely evening.

Bjorn Agertved's Danish retreat

A while ago I featured a post on the Danish artist Bjorn Agertved's stunning Copenhagen apartment. So you can imagine how excited I was when I spotted his family summer cottage over at Decordots today!  Featured in Femina, Bjorn's weekend retreat is full of treasured mid century designer items such as the Butterfly Chair (or BKF chair) and Borge Mogensen chairs as well as some wonderful vintage industrial lighting.

This is turning into a bit of a Danish interior design week, and why not? The Danes really know what they're doing when it comes to fabulous home styling don't you think?

PS Thank you for all your encouragement with painting my kitchen wall with blackboard paint - just what I needed! I'll post some pics on it once I'm done!

A Swedish summer home on Gotland

Morning! Me in a very wet London calling! Looking on the sunny side (te he) take a look at this beautiful home on Gotland, Sweden (check out other wonderful spaces on Gotland here). You may well have seen this oh so cool white space, photographed by Amelia, the blogger behind A Beautiful Living before with it's wood panelled walls, white floors, industrial and mid century scandinavian touches but it's always worth another look, especially if you're in need of summer cottage inspiration!

Despite the driving rain I've had such a great weekend in the Big Smoke. For anyone visiting London  you must visit the very cool new bar/eatery Evans & Peel Detective Agency in Earls Court.  Make sure you reserve a table well in advance though as it gets very booked up and it's soooo worth a visit!

Have a lovely start to the week and see you Wednesday!

The wonderful home of a Danish stylist

It's Friday! Yay! This weekend I'm taking the girls out to the forest to enjoy a little of the Southern Sweden countryside. It's almost customery to take 'korv med bröd' (hotdogs) and bbq them alfresco. Wish me luck with that last bit...! Since I'm cruising towards a very Swedish weekend I thought I'd go all Scandinavian today with this beautiful home of Danish stylist Rikke Graff Juel which I found via the wonderful Scandinavian design blog La Maison d'Anna G.

I really love this home, there are so many beautiful Danish classics, and they make great style look so effortless.  What did you think?

The good news is, this Danish homeowner also has a blog called Ellens album, so there'll be plenty more inspiration to cruise around this weekend!

Have you got any nice plans for the weekend?

A beautiful white Danish home

Now, there's nothing I love more than a white home. I live in Scandinavia after all. And this Danish home is the eptiome of white lovely-ness. I especially love the wooden floors. We have recently white washed our dark oak floors and our house has become so light and airy because of it. Next step - beautiful mid century furniture like in this home....

There are so many things I love about this home I'm not sure where to start, perhaps you can help me?! What catches your eye?

A Swedish black and white home with a lovely mix

Susann from Purple Area blog once told me if you would like to find a beautiful home, always look at the home of interior design bloggers (Suzann's home looks wonderful by the way, you can see pics here). The latest Plaza magazine also proves this with the home of the blogger behind the great blog 'Hannas Room'.......

The home has such a lovely mix of furniture, with modern items from IKEA such as the MINNEN extendable children's bed (I've got it for my little girl in white and love it) and beautiful mid-century vintage pieces like the dining room chairs. The bulb fairy lights are likely from Swedish shop Granit as are the white storage boxes shown above. And look.....it's shoes on display again... wonderful!

Beautiful white Danish home

OK, i admit last week i promised not to print any more white homes. but almost an entire week has gone by since the last one and i do love a white home so! this lovely Danish home is packed with mid century finds and a lovely mix of old and new. it has been shot by the great photographer Line Klein and styled by Helen Wiggers.

We've had two fanstatically sunny days in a row here and when the sun bounces off the ice and warms the face it's so invigorating- Let there be light! I hope you have good weather too....have a lovely day!

Copenhagen apartment true to it's heritage

Hej hej! This morning I wanted to share Frederik Nellemanns apartment with you. It's full of so many interesting pieces. 250 metres squared in Copenhagen filled with Danish design classics. My favourite room is the bedroom which is light and airy and has a raw wood desk - just so lovely.

Tomten latté time. Grrrr! Why did I ever get started on those? I'll be the size of a house before Christmas!

Home with a touch of mid-century Danish

Hejsan hejsan! There's a freezing cold wind rattling at the windows here this morning. So, I thought we could transport ourselves to California (nice thought huh?!) and the home of Morgan Satterfield of The Brick House who has taken inspiration from Danish design among other things.

Not my usual style but I do love the neutral and minimalism and the quirky paintings, and of course the mid-century Danish touch. what do you think?  To see more pictures and a complete interview click here.

PS I'm considering buying my little girls a dolls house for Christmas but after seeing Morgan's home-made one I feel nothing else can compete....you must check it out here!
