Sleeping style

Unfortunately I'm in a little bit of a rush today so there'll be no house tour (boooo!) but I felt I had to share this image I found on Pinterest....at first glance it looks like a pretty bedroom, but the more you look at it the more interesting it gets....

I'd love to write about the taped on rug, which is a fab idea....(imagine a white floor with a rug made of illuminous washi tape?! But my eyes keep getting drawn to the pillows on the ceiling.... And there's another unusual feature too....fascinated to hear your thoughts!

I can't find the stylist...would love to know where this picture came from (it links to Atlantis Home but I can't find the source).

Have a lovely relaxing evening!

Bed time in serene blues and greys

Monday morning. And the only place I could imagine being is in one of these serene bedrooms for a peaceful siesta...  Scandinavian greys, blues and whites. *sigh* how lovely!

There's nothing like a little luxurious bedding. My staple favourites are The White Company and Himla. Do you have any coveted bed linen?

PS Three nights on a sailingboat is enough to dream of a beautiful 'princess and the pea' style bed like the multi-matressed one in the picture above. We did have a lovely time though with a sail to the island of Ven and I finally made it to the Karen Blixen museum in Denmark since we moored up right outside!  I hope you all had a great weekend too?

PPS sorry if I missed credits, it's very difficult when using Pinterest, but I thought these bedrooms too beautiful to pass up!

Have a lovely weekend!

Have a lovely kristi himmelsfärd holiday to everyone in Scandinavia and a lovely weekend to all! x

My black and white bedroom

Over at NIB Norwegian interior bloggers have been invited to choose something from their home that shows who they are. And I thought, why not join in here. My favourite little corner is one side of the bedroom. Ok I technically share it with my man but you can see that, umm, he didn't really have much of a say. (Poor guy!). I have so many treasured items, pictures of my family, presents from friends and nostalgic trinkets that tell a story that it's definitely a little corner of my world that I really love.

All pictures: My Scandinavian Home

A little guide to where things are from: the black wallpaper and bedding is Designers Guild. The mirror is Graham & Green. The reading lamp is the IKEA +365 BRASA. The two little vintage apothecary bottles were a present from P's dad who's a doctor. And I found the Swedish Gustavian chest-of-drawers in their attic. The jewellery holder was a birthday present from my P (good man!). And no guesses where the Chanel No5 perfume was from! People are buying second hand perfume for lots at the moment for the lovely bottles so if you have one that you don't like the scent of and thinking of slinging it out, e-bay it instead!

Do you have an area of your home you feel is truly yours and represents you?

Oh and also I've been looking for a pretty 'washed out' pink or lilac coloured throw for my bed - any tips? Or perhaps another colour - what do you think?

Glamping guide to skiiing

Snow was forecasted last night here, but alas, when I woke there were no pretty white dustings of snow to be seen. However all is not lost. I can mentally transport myself to this wonderful Whitepod in Switzerland instead!

I love the vintage skis on the wall, something to add to the inspiration I posted a few weeks ago here?
Have a cosy morning!

Have a cosy weekend!

....see you Monday! x

Support Movember!

Hej hej! A hairy reminder that there's only a few days left of the month formerly known as 'November' where cool men (Mo bros) sprout moustaches around the world for 30 days to raise money and awareness for men's health issues such as prostate cancer. Find out more at Movember!

Cosy bedrooms with a log cabin feel

This and above picture: Draumesidene by Elin Parr via NIB. I wish I knew where this ski bedding was from,  I LOVE it! Anyone have any tips?

What I love most about these bedrooms is the use of winter themed motives such as reindeer and skiiers on the bedding and all the natural wood used in various forms, so cosy for this time of year.

Got to run and get my morning Latte (*emergency!!*) but pop by this afternoon for inspiration on where to shop and what to buy for a log cabin feel! Hej heeej!

Sleep happy bedroom

Morning! I'm off somewhere very exciting for a great friend's wedding this afternoon - as mentioned on Monday, I love weddings - so I can't wait! Time away from home and my two little angels also means uninterrupted SLEEP! I love this bedroom. I could sleep here, couldn't you?!

These pics are from Weekday Carnival blog via the wonderful Nib blog. If you have time today click through, there's so much to see!

And exciting news! Tomorrow great friend, Ullis, who has the most fantastic home will write a guest blog about her favourite things so don't forget to pop by for some weekend inspiration!

Happy Thursday to you!

Flower bed

Keeping with today's plant theme, I LOVE this bedroom shown in Bo Bedre. The tree bedding is from By Nord. In scandinavia it's more usual for couples to have their own single duvet rather than share a double, which is why this symmetrical tree design is so clever.....what do you think?
