California style {Ryan Murphy at home in Hollywood}

Ryan Murphy and David Miller's California home is the perfect mix of old California and new.  I love the clean lines of the kitchen mixed with the rustic table and it's wood and leather chairs. Each space seems to pull it off perfectly with a simple palette and clean white walls.

Remanants of the Past 2012 {#2}

Rusty Clover was one of my favorite booths at the show, I purchased the most amazing vintage mirror from them for my collage.  Their booth was full of all kinds of goodies, something for just about everyone.

Another favorite was Melissa Blue, her display was beyond amazing.  It makes me wish I could live in a place piled high with vintage and no need to use anything.  I think by far one of the best styled booths I have seen in a long time.

 It is always great to see Blue Canoe, they are a husband and wife team that do the most amazing job collecting fantastic pieces from all around.  I was excited to see that they had the Olive buckets too!

My newest favorite is House Wren!  I fell for the re-purposed lighting and furnishings.  I picked up a couple of fixtures for a project that I am working on.  They are so perfect I cannot wait to see them in the space.  The styling in their space was so well done and the great mix of industrial and natural pieces was perfect.

I hope you enjoyed a little peek at the fall Remnants of the Past show.  I had a great time at the show and only wish I could have spent more time!

The family home of a Danish stylist

This Danish family home owned by the talented stylist Camilla Tang Paylecke of blog Hunch is perfect! Homely, yet cool. Light and bright but full of personal touches. And the perfect blend of Scandinavian designer pieces, mid century finds and pretty vintage items. What a truly inspiring home!

What are your thoughts? Any styling ideas you love?

So many cute and clever blends, I think one of my favourites is the Eames side chair with the mid-century writing desk. I could sit there and work all week!

Thank you to Camilla for the kind permission to show these pics.

Hope you all have a lovely evening.

Remnants of the Past 2012

I was excited to visit the show this year, we have not been to the last few shows and I wanted to see everyone.   My first stop as always was to see the boys at Atelier de Campagne.  Their booth was full of beautiful pieces as always.  Things were moving quickly so we stopped for a quick picture and then it was on with the show.

Next stop- Junk Style design.  I have never seen them before and I fell for their style. It was a great mix of vintage pieces and one of my favorites vintage luggage.

 They also had some great bird cages, I almost caved and bought one but decided I should wait until things were finished here at home!

I loved that so many vendors used beautiful natural pieces in their displays, we saw so many nests and feathers mixed in with the pumpkins.

I love loved the display of vintage dress forms from The Seed Box antiques I have been searching for just the right one for my office and have not found her yet.

Another amazing display from Kimberlee Edgar of Edgar and Edgar.  Oh my goodness it was all black and cream, it was really beautiful.  I wish I had taken more photos of her booth, it was full of people so it was a little hard and when I went back it was closed up for the night.  She did a really beautiful job.

We had a great time at the show as always I wish I was able to take more time and talk with everyone about their style, maybe during the next show.  I will have more inspiring booths for you in tomorrows post though.
