Danish design inspired by Nordic nature

Today I'm inspired by the Danish design company by nord where sustainable design is at the centre of everything they do. Designer and owner Hanne Berant says  by nord design is 'inspired by the raw yet beautiful Nordic nature where the rough and gentle meet'.

Quite a lot of inspiration to take from this - obviously the sustainable nature of their work, but also from a visual perspective, using a picture over the sofa which looks like a window, scribbling on the wall (although my handwriting is so awful it would look like lots of squashed spiders) and the wonderful black and white moodboards.

And also, if you have guests coming around for supper and you haven't got any pretty flowers you could just nip out and collect a few autumnal branches as a centre piece - they're free too. genius! Definitely the autumn tip of the day.

Clear storage the Danish way

After a little surfing around today I came across these images from the fab Danish brand Nomess via Norwegian blog Stylizimo. I love perspex storage, so practical yet so smart. Not only can you find everything you're looking for but it's also a great way to show off your beloved shoes / jewellery / hats & scarves etc while keeping them neat and tidy. Oh, and the styling around them is pretty cool and inspirational too. Thanks Nomess!

On another note, there's something wrong with my man. He keeps saying yes to everything. I'm getting nervous. Yesterday he said I could paint one entire wall of the kitchen in blackboard paint. Now I'm too scared to do it.....what?!

Spring has sprung with Danish online shop Tine K Home

Last Saturday I was invited to a viewing of the spring / summer 2012 collection from Danish brand Tine K Home at their Swedish showroom in Magasin 36, Höganäs. I had such a lovely time and LOVED the new Tine K Home collection. You must check it out at the online shop, if you're like me you'll really like the mix of greys and whites. LUSH!   It was also wonderful to meet the Tine K Home team - thank you Anita, Tine, Stine, and Sanna!

Happy shopping with the danish brand! Dangerous, but oh so worth a visit! Oh and I have been meaning to visit the shop Magasin 36 for ages which certainly didn't disappoint - so many FAB vintage / industrial finds, if you're in or around Höganäs near Helsingborg it's well worth a visit! Have a lovely day!
